Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, the first couple to meet and marry on ABC's The Golden Bachelor, are divorcing after three months of marriage.
The pair tied the knot in a televised ceremony in January after meeting last fall on the ABC dating reality show. In an exclusive interview with RealityCheck, Turner revealed that the couple have decided to end their marriage due to "irreconcilable differences."
"It's a really sad day for both of us," Turner said. "We thought we had found our happily ever after, but it just didn't work out." Nist added, "We've come to the conclusion that we're better off as friends."
Turner and Nist's divorce comes as a shock to many fans of The Golden Bachelor, who had been rooting for the couple since their first date on the show. However, Turner and Nist are insistent that they are both still in love with each other, and that the split was amicable.
